Good ad, or atrocious ad?

I suspect there will be passionate advocates for and against this one.

The tsunami killed 100 times more people than 9/11. The planet is brutally powerful. Respect it. Preserve it.

Intellectually I don't mind it - factual, and promoting a good cause. Emotionally I find it distasteful. It will certainly generate a lot of publicity. Maybe that was the point? If so, points for savviness, if not for class.

At least it's better than lying.
